Prior to the writing of Remembering
Elio, the longest article written on Elio De Angelis -
photographs included - only lasted 8 pages. Only recently,
Johnny Tipler's book Ayrton Senna - Team Lotus Years
revealed some inside stories at the Team Lotus, albeit from
the Senna legendary superiority point of view. Most aspects
were still left uncovered: we all knew that Elio was a fine
pianist by we never saw any of his others artworks. And we
all knew that Jean Alesi's helmet is based on Elio de
Angelis' distinctive design, but never have any clue about
its origin. Did Elio ever meet Enzo Ferrari? What went
through Elio's mind after his retirement at the 1986 Monaco
Grand Prix? Yes, the answers are in this book! |

Remembering Elio follows the same
size configuration as Coterie Press' Ayrton Senna book and
is quite large: 27.6 cm in height by 27.9cm in width
(approximately 10.9 inches by 11 inches). The 11" length
size format is widely used, so it will fit very nicely with
other books on the bookshelves. In comparison, Rainer
Schlegelmilch's Grand Prix - Fascination Formula 1 is
even slightly taller (12.6 x 11 in). The hardback covers and
208 pages give a 2.4cm thickness to the book.
